Kathi Toth-Switzer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Education degree from Queen’s University (1981, 1982) and has thirty-three years of experience teaching individuals with developmental disabilities. As an educator, Kathi has specialist qualifications in Special Education, Reading Instruction and Elementary Music. She is a certified Orff Music Specialist trained by the Royal Conservatory of Music. She is also a professional musician who has performed as a violinist with the Kingston Symphony, Quartessence, and various musical and theatre groups in the Kingston area (Melos Choir, Pro Arte Singers, Kinsmen and Meistersingers Theatre, Queen’s Musical Theatre). Kathi was the co-writer and then the musical director of Martadella’s Gift, originally performed in 1996 at Kingston Collegiate and Vocational Institute and performed in 2000 by H’art Centre at the Grand Theatre.
